Biblical Counseling
What is Biblical Counseling?
Biblical counseling is Christ-centered, Scripture-guided soul care. It is a form of pastoral support that helps individuals apply the truth of God’s Word to the challenges, pain, and questions they are facing in life. At its core, biblical counseling seeks to connect people to the heart of Jesus, helping them grow in spiritual formation, emotional healing, and gospel hope.
What to Expect
Our biblical counselors are trained in the use of Scripture and spiritual wisdom. They are not licensed therapists or medical professionals and do not diagnose or provide clinical treatment. Instead, they offer compassionate, prayerful, Bible-based guidance to help you recognize God’s work in your life and respond in ways that reflect His character and truth.
We believe every person is made in the image of God—worthy of dignity, compassion, and hope. At the same time, we recognize that each of us carries both brokenness and belovedness. Because every story is unique, we do not take a one-size-fits-all approach. Some come seeking comfort in grief, others to confront lies, confess sin, or process past hurt.
Our counselors address not only outward behavior, but also the heart, beliefs, and experiences that shape your story. They are trauma- and abuse-informed, approaching each conversation with care, discernment, and a commitment to emotional and spiritual safety.
You can expect:
A safe, confidential space to share
Counsel rooted in Scripture and the gospel
Prayerful listening and encouragement
Support focused on spiritual growth, personal wholeness, and relational restoration
If you are facing severe trauma, addiction, or a mental health crisis, we may recommend additional care from a licensed counselor or medical professional. Our desire is to walk with you in a way that complements professional help—not replaces it.
Age Policy
At this time, our counseling services are available to adults 21 and older. We recognize the unique needs of children, adolescents, and young adults, and want to ensure they receive specialized care.
Here are some of the trusted resources and referrals specifically for younger individuals and their families:
Story Group: What It Is and Why It May Be Recommended
As part of your counseling journey, a Story Group may be recommended to help you engage more deeply with the experiences that have shaped your view of God, yourself, and others.
A Story Group is a 8–10 week, small-group experience (4–6 people) where participants read The Healing Path by Dr. Dan Allender and share two written stories from their childhood or family of origin. These stories help surface the beliefs, wounds, and coping strategies that often continue into adulthood.
This group is not therapy, but it is trauma-informed, abuse-aware, and grounded in Scripture and the gospel. The focus is not to fix but to witness each other’s stories with compassion, care, and prayerful engagement.
This may be beneficial if:
You’re feeling “stuck” in talk-based counseling
You are struggling in a primary relationship
You’ve minimized your story or struggle to name your emotions
You're ready to go deeper into the roots of long-standing patterns
You would benefit from a safe, structured community around your story
Story Groups often accelerate healing by providing a space to be seen, heard, and loved in the places we often hide. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation—this is a step toward truth, safety, and transformation.
You might wonder: Why go back? Isn’t it over?
Yes, childhood is past—but the ways we learned to survive pain often still affect our present. We carry beliefs, patterns, and defenses formed in childhood that shape our relationships, faith, and sense of identity.
As Dr. Allender says, “The pain we don’t acknowledge and heal, we redistribute.” Story Group creates space to bring that pain into the light—not to dwell in the past, but to invite transformation and healing in Christ.
